Yes, we use Buttero leather by Conceria Walpier, made in Tuscany, Italy using vegetable tannins. Walpier is a member of the Pelle Vegetale Consortium, which certifies that their leather is tanned using traditional vegetable methods. We chose Buttero for its full-grain quality and natural texture.

Our natural leathers are vegetable tanned and will develop a beautiful patina that displays character and aging over time that is custom to you. Sun exposure can accelerate the development of the leather's patina, so we recommend keeping your cover out of direct sunlight for extended periods.

Buttero leather is a full-grain vegetable-tanned leather, which means no two hides are alike. Natural markings — subtle variations in tone, fine creases, and occasional scars from the animal's life — are part of what makes each piece genuinely one of a kind. What you receive may differ slightly from what you see in our photos, and we consider that a feature, not a flaw.

Gold foil stamping is a traditional finishing technique in which heated brass letter stamps press metallic foil directly into the leather. It's pressed once, worn forever and unmistakably yours.

Every name and/or initial(s) is pressed by hand into the leather. It is set in Linux Libertine, a refined serif typeface, with up to 12 characters allowed. Our uppercase letter are measured at 3.5mm, lowercase at 2.5mm. Accented characters not currently available.

Every NOEMÍ order arrives gift-ready. Your journal is wrapped in tissue paper, tied with ribbon, and nestled in a soft linen NOEMÍ dustbag — no extra step needed. If you would like to include a personal note, simply fill out the gifting field at checkout. Please note that XL sizes may not include full gift packaging.

Personalization is offered at the time of purchase via a form that appears after clicking "Add to cart." If you are ordering multiple quantities of the same product, please add them one at a time rather than using the quantity selector. This ensures each piece has its own personalization form. Even if both items share the same personalization, this step is required to avoid delays. At checkout, each item should appear as its own line in your cart.

Every leather journal cover is made by hand in California. Each is cut, stitched, and finished one piece at a time. Our notebook inserts are sourced with the same deliberateness, chosen from a supplier whose standards reflect our own commitment to quality.

Each cover is made to order and takes approximately 1–2 weeks to craft before it ships. Once on its way, standard shipping within the US and territories typically adds another 5–8 business days. Total time from order to doorstep is generally 2–4 weeks.

We want every NOEMÍ piece to be exactly right for you. If something isn't, we accept returns and exchanges within 14 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original condition. Simply reach out via our contact page with your order number and we'll take care of you.
